Traffic Accident

1.2 million People are killed in road accident every year in the world.

There are many causes of the traffic accident, first of all the speed because many of people died from the speed. The second cause is the weather in the U.A.E the biggest problem is the fog such as pile-ups (127 cars). The last but not least is Poor Maintenance because many of accident happened and the reason is poor maintenance.

We must bring down accident the first method is strict enforcement of speed limits and heavy penalty should be imposed on all those who cross speed limits. If this is strictly implemented, nobody will dare to go at high speed. For another solution for new vehicles we can put a built tamper proof speed controllers.

In conclusion we shout reduce the traffic accident because we lost many people in the road. Also the government should open school to teach who want to drive how to drive in safely.

I am going to talk about the presentation of Mohamed Adnan and Ahmed Abdulla. The topic of the presentation is Industrial Revolution. They introduced the topic and they did well and they mentioned all the main points. Also they had eye contact with audience and they organized the talking between them; it was quite well-planned. When they were talking they stood at the side not in front of the screen and they didn’t use note cards. They read from the screen . Also they spoke in clear and loud voice but they took a long time. They attracted us by their smiles and looked confident.

At the power point they divided the presentation into 3 phases: pre-industrial revolution; industrial revolution; post-industrial revolution. They used  nice pictures and the power point was accurate and clear throughout but they didn’t used animations and transitions. Their question & answer session was long, lively and well-handled by both.

Finally I think the presentation was good because I learnt many things about the industry like in the past what they used to make steel. Also they did the presentation as a group and we enjoyed it when they did it. They took a  long time but we did enjoy it.

reflection of our meeting

My name is Abdulla and I was the participant in the meeting group. My job in the meeting was to discuss with the chairman Mohamed and the secretary Ali. Also to give them new ideas. Yesterday I, Ali and Mohamed chose a subject and the subject was global warming. We discussed together about it and I put some ideas to stop the damage from the global warming. Some of my ideas my group agreed with, like using another source of power such as solar. Also they didn’t agree with me when I said we can use water energy as a source of power because there are some countries which don’t have water in their land. I like that meeting because when we were sharing the ideas we reached the perfect solution. Also I took advantage from the meeting. I hope to meet again to get more experience.

The Chairman Mohammed called the meeting to order at 3:00 PM

1-    1-  The reasons for the global warming:

Ali said there are two main reasons of the global warming which are humans’ activities and natural reasons. Mohammed and Abdulla agreed with Ali, but the chairman said we will not discuss about the natural reasons because we cannot find a solution for them. Abdulla said one of the human activities is that humans use cars, airplanes, and trains for transportation. And this transportation causes the CO2 in the air which causes the global warming.  

2- The consequences of the global warming

·            The chairman Mohammed said let us turn our attention to the consequences. Ali said “the high temperature leads to the spread of pests and diseases that the insects transmit such as malaria.” Abdulla pointed out that the high temperature causes melting of the massive glaciers that raises the sea level, so it’s very dangerous for people who are living on the islands and near the coast. The chairman Mohammed agreed with the two consequences and he said let us move to the most important part with is the solution.

3-    3-Making the people aware of the global warming

·          Abdulla asked if we can make aware all the people around the world about the danger of the climate change. Ali pointed out that it’s difficult to raise the awareness of all the people because some regions don’t have enough means of communications. The chairman said if we make aware as many people as we can, that would be enough to reduce the dangers of the global warming. Ali said the best way to make aware many people is by T.V or Internet because it’s common between the people. Abdulla and Mohamed agreed with this solution.

4-      4-Using other fuels instead of petrol and diesel.

·         Abdulla suggested using other sources of power that have not bad effects in the environment such as solar power, wind energy and water energy. Mohammed and Ali didn’t agree with Abdulla because it’s not very viable because it’s not practical and the oil is very cheap.

5-       5-Using public transport.

·         The chairman said let’s see another solution that’s workable. Ali suggested using public transportation to reduce the use of the cars. For example, metro, public buses and electric trains.

The chairman Mohamed said that these are good solutions to reduce the pollution which is an effect of global warming, and he said we should list the output of the meeting.

·                  In conclusion we thought that:

1-      Global warming is a very dangerous phenomenon in the world.

2-      Making the people aware is a good idea to make them deal with this phenomenon.

3-      Using other fuels is not a viable solution.

4-      We liked the idea of using public transportation.
